<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The purpose of the research is to obtain amorphous salt mixtures of albendazole (ABZ ASM) with carboxylic acids and study their physicochemical properties and cytotoxicity.</p>
<title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. Experimental samples of ABZ ASM containing p-toluenesulfonic (p-TSA), succinic (SA), citric (CA), and oxalic (OA) acids were obtained by co-grinding in various modifications. The ABZ content, solubility of the original substance and experimental samples, their structure, composition, and other physicochemical properties were studied using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), HPLC with mass spectrometry, and IR spectroscopy. The cytotoxic properties of amorphous salt mixtures of ABZ were assessed using the MTT assay according to a standard method.</p>
<title>Results and discussion</title><p>Results and discussion. The results demonstrate increased solubility of ABZ samples with p-TSA, CA, and OA, and the formation of ABZ salt forms. A new crystalline reaction product was identified, obtained by additional boiling of ABZ ASM samples with SA and OA in isopropanol. In in vitro experiments, ABZ ASM demonstrated high selective cytotoxicity against the A431 and PANC-1 tumor cell lines, with the highest activity for ABZ ASM samples with p-TSA, while normal HEK-293 cells were resistant to the test samples. These results highlight the potential and need for further study of the physicochemical properties and biological activity of ABZ ASM.</p>
